Michael Pedroni

Michael Pedroni leads ICI Global and is ICI’s Chief Global Affairs Officer. Michael is responsible for ICI’s international policy and regulatory engagement in Europe and Asia as well as at IOSCO and the FSB. He also directs ICI Global’s thought leadership and is spearheading ICI’s increased focus on Europe. Michael has extensive experience in financial policy from his roles at the US Treasury, White House, Federal Reserve, IMF, and US Mission to the European Union. As a member of the US Senior Executive Service, he served four Treasury Secretaries, beginning in 2008 as the first Director of the Markets Room. Michael was subsequently appointed US financial attaché to the European Union and head of Treasury’s Brussels office in 2013. In 2016, he returned to Washington as acting senior director for global economics in the White House. He left government in 2017 to join the Managed Funds Association as head of international affairs and global research. Michael is a graduate of Yale and received a master’s degree from Columbia. He was a Fulbright Scholar and is conversational in German, Italian, and basic French. Michael also is an adjunct professor at George Washington University. Victor van Hoorn

Victor van Hoorn is ICI Global’s Managing Director. A dual citizen of France and the Netherlands, he joins ICI from Eurosif, where he has served as executive director since 2020. At Eurosif, van Hoorn expanded the association and helped establish the group as a leading voice on sustainable finance and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues. He is a well-known presence at the European Parliament and European Commission, with deep experience in their legislative and regulatory processes. He is also an appointee to the French Ministry of Finance’s advisory committee on ESG fund labeling. Earlier in his career, van Hoorn headed financial services public affairs for an international communications firm. As an attorney, he has worked on capital markets issues in commercial practice. Matthew Mohlenkamp

Matthew Mohlenkamp is ICI Global’s Managing Director for Asia and Global Analytics. Mohlenkamp has extensive experience in international economic, regulatory, and financial policy and analysis, developed through a variety of roles at the US Treasury Department spanning 15 years. As a member of the US Senior Executive Service, he served as Director of Treasury’s Office of South and Southeast Asia, and previously was Director of the Office of the Western Hemisphere. Mohlenkamp also spent four years as the US Financial Attaché for Southeast Asia, based in Singapore, serving as the Treasury Department's representative to the region. He also was the Senior Finance Official for the United States in the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum. Previously, he served in the US Treasury offices of East Asia as well as International Debt and Development Policy. He holds a master’s degree in International Relations and International Economics from the Johns Hopkins University School of International Studies (SAIS) and a bachelor’s degree from DePaul University. Annette Capretta

Annette Capretta is Chief Counsel of ICI Global and guides the Investment Company Institute’s international legal program in Europe, Asia, and elsewhere for the benefit of ICI members and long-term investors. In previous positions at ICI, she served as Associate General Counsel, focusing on environmental, social and governance (ESG) matters, and as Deputy Managing Director of the Independent Directors Council (part of the ICI). Before joining ICI, Annette held senior management positions at the Securities and Exchange Commission and in the legal department of a large fund complex. Annette began her legal career as a litigator, after a one-year clerkship with a federal judge. Corrado Camera

Corrado Camera is the Director of Public Policy and Regulation for ICI Global. In his previous role as Senior advisor to the US Treasury Representative in Europe, he contributed to the development of public policy on behalf of Treasury and several US regulatory agencies for the past 15 years. He provided advice and analysis to several Treasury Representatives in Europe and five US Ambassadors to the EU on financial services and economic policy matters, and is a veteran of the U.S.-EU regulatory dialogue. Prior to joining the US Mission to the EU, Corrado led an Italian regional representation to the EU. Corrado is an Italian national and holds a Master in Translation from the University of Geneva and studied Economics and European Integration at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Lisa Cheng

Lisa Cheng is a Senior Research Analyst at ICI Global, focused on Asia Pacific policy and regulatory issues and global analytics. Before joining ICI Global, Lisa was a researcher at Asian Private Banker, where she designed and developed an online research platform for fund selection in Asia. Additionally, she led a research project on Singapore’s role as an offshore wealth hub and produced quarterly market sentiment analysis studies. Lisa holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Hong Kong and an MSc in FinTech and Financial Analytics from Hong Kong Baptist University. Kaori Kabata

Kaori Kabata is a Senior Research Analyst at ICI Global, focused on Asia Pacific policy and regulatory issues and global analytics. Prior to joining ICI Global, Kaori served as a Client Service and Reporting Advisor at Neuberger Berman, where she provided client support, communications, and reports to East Asian institutional investors on investment strategies, portfolio performance and analysis, and market outlooks. Kaori also has experience working at Morgan Stanley, Clifford Chance, Ropes & Gray, and Anderson Mori & Tomotsune. Kaori holds an undergraduate degree from Keio University and a dual master’s degree from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs and the University of Tokyo's Graduate School of Public Policy. Elizabeth Lance

Elizabeth Lance is Assistant Chief Counsel of ICI Global. Before joining ICI Global, Elizabeth was Vice President and Legal Counsel for Legislative and Regulatory Affairs at T. Rowe Price where she was responsible for monitoring global regulatory developments affecting T. Rowe Price’s entities, products, distribution and operations, including advisory, investments, and corporate functions. Elizabeth previously served as Attorney Advisor for Regulatory Policy in the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Office of International Affairs. At the SEC, she received the Chairman’s Award for Excellence, served a six month detail to the Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations Risk’ Analysis and Surveillance group, and was awarded a Presidential Management Fellowship. Max Langeheine

Max Langeheine is the Director, Regulatory Strategy at ICI Global. Max has been working in EU regulatory affairs since 2011. Prior to joining ICI Global, he worked as an economic analyst for more than 7 years at the European Commission’s DG FISMA responsible for financial services regulation. His main role at the Commission was to devise, analyse, and compare possible regulatory actions, primarily in the areas of asset management, capital markets, market infrastructure, digital finance, and sustainable finance. He was also involved in various monitoring exercises (e.g. Brexit) and helped to conceptualise and implement DG FISMA’s Supervisory Data Strategy. Before joining the Commission, Max worked as a public affairs consultant in Brussels. He started his professional career at Hume Brophy (now part of Penta Group) where he advised clients, mainly from financial services sector, on European regulatory developments. His key clients were high-frequency traders, asset managers and custodian banks. He also worked at RPP Group for 2 years which specialises on EU and German healthcare regulation. In his role there he mainly worked on blood, blood-plasma, and orphan drugs and was responsible for coordinating actions between the Brussels and Berlin office. He returned to Hume Brophy as a manager for half a year before joining the European Commission. Max is a German national and speaks German, English, and French. He has an academic background in Economics (MSc), Physics and Business Studies (BSc hons.) having studied at the University of East Anglia and University of Warwick in the UK. Eva M. Mykolenko

Eva M. Mykolenko is Associate Chief Counsel, securities regulation with the Investment Company Institute and ICI Global. Mykolenko advocates on behalf of US and global, regulated funds and their investors to securities regulators and multinational organizations in the United States and abroad. She started with the Institute in 2008 after more than eight years in private practice at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP and Shearman & Sterling LLP. While in private practice, Mykolenko advised mutual fund, hedge fund, and investment adviser clients on a variety of compliance, regulatory, and transactional matters. Kirsten Robbins

Kirsten Robbins is the Associate Chief Counsel for ICI Global. An industry veteran, Robbins worked at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) in various roles over the past 10 years, most recently as the Senior Special Counsel in the CFTC’s Office of International Affairs. In this role, she provided technical and legal advice on international and domestic policy pertaining to dynamic and highly complex financial developments. She developed policy pertaining to a wide array of financial stability and clearing issues, advising several CFTC Chairs and Commissioners on cross-border issues and matters arising in multi-lateral standard setting groups. She represented the Commission in many domestic and international regulatory forums and crisis management groups, including the Financial Stability Board (FSB) and International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) and served as the Co-Chair of the CPMI-IOSCO Policy Standing Group. Prior to joining the CFTC, Robbins worked in private practice for Shearman & Sterling and Goodwin, focusing on complex civil litigation.
